Sensis wins air-quality campaign work

Sensis won a contract from the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) to help raise awareness about the effect wood burning has on the region’s air quality. Sensis will build an advertising and public relations campaign to improve awareness of the “Check Before You Burn” program encouraging Southland residents to think twice before lighting their fireplaces in the winter.

“Our goal is to help cut down the amount of fine particulate by empowering the public with information,” Sensis President José Villa said. “We plan to develop an integrated campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of fine particulate and the contributions to that hazard caused by people burning wood at their homes. We appreciate the AQMD’s choosing Sensis to lead the awareness campaign around this vital public health issue.”
