$500,000 Raised to Date for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, in partnership with Azteca America, hosted a six-hour “Salvé Un Angelito…¡Te Toca!” live television event on Nov. 14, raising $500,000.  Along with the televised fundraising event, the campaign also included 60 inspirational stories of pediatric patients treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals shared during Azteca’s national newscast Hechos Nacional Tarde and the sale of $1 wristbands sold at select local supermarkets.  Monies are still being raised through the end of the year.

Celebrities who made a special appearance during the live broadcast event included Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals cofounder Marie Osmond, Ana Barbara, Chiquis Rivera, Veronica Del Castillo, Yahir, Kate Del Castillo, Tania Rincon and a number of Azteca America’s top on-air personalities who encouraged Latinos to donate to the “Salvé Un Angelito…¡Te Toca!” campaign.  The talented children from the Esperanza Azteca Orchestra Los Angeles set the tone for the special evening, in what was their very first performance.

“We are grateful to Azteca, the numerous celebrities, and everyone who committed their time and resources to share the stories of our young patients and helped raise much needed funds for our member hospitals,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Through these partnerships we can continue to ensure sick and injured kids receive the care they deserve.”

More than 500 people attended the live telecast and watched celebrities and special guests perform during the one-night event to support the network and families. All funds raised during the televised campaign will be distributed to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in supporters’ communities, where they will be used to fund treatments, purchase specialized equipment and provide charitable care.

“Azteca America is proud to have been the media partner for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ fundraising campaign. It is an honor to have been able to share so many inspiring stories with our viewers, while helping raise awareness and improve the lives of children across the country,” said Manuel Abud, president and CEO, Azteca America.

The Latino-oriented “Salvé Un Angelito…¡Te Toca!” fundraising campaign will continue until the end of November through $1 yellow miracle wristband sales at local grocery stores including Cardenas Supermarkets, Big Saver Foods (Los Angeles) and Mi Pueblo Supermercados (Northern CA).  To make an online donation, CLICK HERE.
