Choice has never been more abundant across the media landscape than it is today. The rise in connected TV (CTV) adoption and the growing wealth of streaming platforms continue to entice media-hungry consumers with new and engaging content. Despite the abundant choice, however, many people don’t see enough of themselves reflected in the content they’re being offered.

NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises announced that Marcos Santana, President of Telemundo Global Studios, will assume a new role as advisor and executive producer starting January 2022. 

LatinX 103.7 FM WCCM, of Costa Media Boston - the Boston Red Sox Spanish-language Station - will begin airing the American League Championship Series starting this Friday, October 15. All games will be aired LIVE on WCCM 103.7 FM and 1490 AM.

Univision Communications Inc. announced the expansion of its local media division with the addition of Orlando, Tampa and Washington D.C. to its list of owned and operated station group. The stations are currently operated by Entravision Communications, whose licensing agreement with Univision concludes on December 31, 2021.

Univision Los Angeles announced the launch of a new morning radio show, “Levántate Con Ysaac Alvarez” (Wake Up With Ysaac Alvarez) on K-LOVE 107.5 FM. Starting October 11th, Alvarez will offer Latino listeners in Los Angeles heartwarming human interest stories, news of the day, comedy and interactive audience participation along with the best Latin music hits.

Telemundo stations Telemundo 31 / WTMO, which serves Spanish-speaking audiences in Central Florida and Telemundo Puerto Rico / WKAQ announced a news collaboration that will result in their respective audiences receiving live, local news coverage from each market during the stations’ newscasts.

NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal, announced that it has completed its acquisition from Ramar Communications of four full power stations, one Class A station, three low power stations and 20 associated [or multiple] translator stations that are assigned to the Albuquerque DMA.

CNN en Español announced that renowned Cuban writer and poet Wendy Guerra is joining the network as a contributor and analyst, as well as a creator of alternative content for digital and on-air platforms.
