Montemayor Adds To PR Department.

Montemayor y Asociados announced that Nelda Carrizales Skevington has joined the agency as public relations manager.

Carrizales Skevington is responsible for development, implementation and management of public relations activities for U.S. Hispanic markets for DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Kmart, Verizon Wireless, The Gambrinus Company (Modelo Brands beer), and other clients.

Prior to joining Montemayor y Asociados, Carrizales Skevington worked at Bromley Communications, where she managed the Boy Scouts of America, General Motors, Procter & Gamble, Sprint and Western Union accounts.

Carrizales Skevington also has worked at MPR, a San Antonio public relations firm, where she managed Ford Motor Company’s Salute to Education initiative in South Texas and Southern California, as well as the Blockbuster Video account.

Previously, she spent 10 years in St. Louis where she was investor relations coordinator for RightChoice Managed Care, and account coordinator for Maritz, Inc., a privately held performance improvement company.

Carrizales Skevington has won several public relations industry awards, including two Silver Spur Awards from the Texas Public Relations Association, two PR Week Honorable Mentions and a CIPRA award for her work on several U.S. Hispanic and Latin America community relations campaigns.

A native of San Antonio, Carrizales Skevington holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management with an emphasis in marketing and a minor in communications from Webster University, St. Louis, Mo. Carrizales Skevington is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists.
