Codina Named General Marketing Manager @ Ford.

Francisco Codina, president of Ford Argentina, was named today Ford Motor Company general marketing manager, Ford Division.

Codina, who joined the company in 1977 in New Orleans, has put his stamp on Ford Motor Company’s marketing efforts. He is credited with establishing brand marketing in Argentina and Mexico, where he was marketing director from December 1994 to March 1997. He also led the then-Ford Customer Service Division’s “Fix-it-Right” campaign to improve customer service at dealerships. Codina held a number of field assignments in the United States prior to his service in Mexico and Argentina.

Codina replaces George Murphy, who recently resigned. Codina will report to James O’Connor, Ford Motor Company vice president and president of Ford Division.

“Cisco understands the connection between our customers and our brands,” said O’Connor. “He also worked very closely with dealers in each of his markets. He brings a global perspective and a wealth of experience to his new position.”

Codina will be responsible for development and implementation of marketing strategies and programs for all Ford brand cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles and minivans sold in the United States.
