Bebo Valdes & Diego ‘El Cigala’ @ Beacon Theatre In NYC.

OCESA Presents Inc. announced that Bebo Valdes & Diego ‘El Cigala’ will make their New York City concert debut at the Beacon Theater on September 8, 2004 at 9 p.m. This performance comes on the heels of one of the most internationally acclaimed albums in recent memory: ‘LAGRIMAS NEGRAS.’ (Black Tears).

These two renowned performers, from two distinct disciplines, have joined forces to create a third, powerful and distinctive musical language. Mr. Bebo Valdes is the pianist and composer-arranger who has helped shape Cuban music
for the last 60 years. Diego ‘El Cigala’ is the younger traditional soul-searching flamenco singer from Spain. They use boleros as their medium, Spanish as their language, and together they create Afro-Cuban influenced boleros with a distinct flamenco personality.

‘LAGRIMAS NEGRAS’ has sold more than 400,000 copies in 21 countries since its release and was named Critics Choice Album of the Year 2003 by The New York Times.
