El Nuevo Constructor Magazine.

El Nuevo Constructor (The New Builder) – to be launched in October 2002. Targeting 25,000 Spanish-speaking builders, subcontractors, trade workers, and construction company owners. El Nuevo Constructor will include a special safety training section, how-to installation pieces, new product information, translation of construction terms and useful phrases, and a mix of articles that will increase readers’ skills in general building and in the trades such as framing, roofing, siding, drywall, painting, masonry, and concrete work.

“With the explosion of Hispanics in construction, it’s imperative for building product manufacturers to establish their brands with this emerging and powerful market,” said Nellie Callahan, publisher of El Nuevo Constructor. “Hispanics are the future of the construction industry – presently making up 15% of the industry and expected to grow rapidly in the next 10 years. They buy building products, tools, and equipment and they need to be marketed to in Spanish,” added Callahan.

The magazine will be distributed directly to worksites by production builders with a strong Hispanic subcontractor base, Hispanic subcontracting companies, and to distribution outlets in the largest Hispanic markets. Copies will also be mailed to qualified Hispanic construction pros, and distributed at top trade shows and industry events serving the construction marketplace.

“Our goal is to build a bridge to the growing Hispanic construction market,” said Rick Schwolsky, Editor-in-Chief, “And El Nuevo Constructor accomplishes just that. This is the only magazine in the industry written exclusively for Hispanics in their own language bringing them top quality, up-to-date construction information.” Launching with one issue in October 2002, the magazine will publish four times in 2003 (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall issues).
