Kahn – Publisher @ Latina Magazine.

Latina magazine named David Kahn its publisher today. In this position, he will oversee and develop strategies for the magazine’s advertising sales and corporate marketing efforts. With more than 15 years of experience in print media, Kahn
brings with him knowledge in building special interest magazine businesses, as well as advertising sales, strategic marketing and multimedia endeavors.

“David’s appointment caps two years of hard work in which we’ve successfully positioned Latina for the next big step in its
development,” said Christy Haubegger, Latina magazine’s founder. “He shares our passion in seeing that Latina fulfills its potential in reaching today’s Hispanic woman. His entrepreneurial spirit will be greatly valued here and I know that he will continue to move the company forward.”

Kahn joins Latina from The New Yorker, where he served as publisher and previous to that, associate publisher. In that post, he led an 80-person sales, marketing and business management staff worldwide and was responsible for the weekly’s business and financial performance.

Prior to his work at The New Yorker, Kahn served as publisher at Saveur for five years, a title that he helped found. In this post, he also served as part of the team that launched Meigher Communications (Saveur’s parent company) and helped turn the epicurean magazine into a multi-media brand. The magazine was named “Start-Up of the Year” by Adweek in 1995 and one of Advertising Age’s “100 Hottest Brands.” In addition, Kahn was also the publisher at Worth, a high-end personal finance title that he also helped launch.

“Since its inception six years ago, Latina has grown into an exciting and vibrant publication,” said Kahn. “The magazine is a remarkable base from which Latina Media Ventures will continue to grow this brand. The company has built an incredible team over the last couple of years and I’m thrilled to be joining them.”
