CNN International Launches – The Music Room.

The Music Room, CNN International’s new music program that provides an in-depth look at top music groups and artists from around the globe. Hosted by Mexican-born Sasha Rionda, the program profiles popular and up-and-coming artists at home, on the road and in the studio and offers the latest album chart news, industry developments and music festival updates. The half-hour show, which will deliver high quality production and bring music fans a real insight into what makes their favorite artists tick, premieres Friday, April 12 at 3:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on CNN International.

By focusing on mainstream pop, rock, R&B, dance and international music, The Music Room will profile artists such as Moby, Alicia Keys, Alanis Morissette, No Doubt, Baaba Maal, Coldplay, Hikaru Utada, Gorillaz, Manu Chao, Kylie Minogue, Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, Limp Bizkit, Ludacris and Nelly Furtado. The program looks behind the scenes at major music events, as well as developments in music technology, industry and artist news. Artists are also invited to perform their work in The Music Room studio and explain what inspires their music. In its premiere edition, The Music Room will feature Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20, Nelly Furtado and a look at today’s hot R&B artists including Mary J. Blige, India Arie, Destiny’s Child, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez and Janet Jackson.

By reflecting a great panorama of musical styles from all countries around the globe, The Music Room will encompass both popular and lesser-known acts, reflecting top new artists of substance and identifying new musical trends. Other regular The Music Room features will include:
