Marc Anthony Live In Concert 2002.

Clear Channel Entertainment announced that Marc Anthony, will embark on a North American Summer Tour scheduled to kick-off July 6th in Boston at the Tweeter Center. Anthony will be hitting 30 cities throughout the United States and Canada. Clear Channel Entertainment, the world’s leading promoter and marketer of live entertainment, will promote and produce the tour.

Marc Anthony has become the world’s top-selling salsa singer and a huge pop artist here in the States. The New York Times has praised him as “somebody who could compete with the great pop figures of the century”. Already an International superstar, Marc Anthony released his self-titled English language pop CD in 1999. His English debut album was certified platinum six weeks after hitting the stores and seven months later he had sold more than two million copies in the U.S. alone making it a certified quadruple platinum album. In total, he has been awarded ten gold and platinum certifications for all four of his albums: Contra La Corriente, Todo A Su Tiempo, Marc Anthony, and Libre.

Since his initial success, Anthony has acquired a collection of nominations and awards. The single “I Need To Know” earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 1999 meanwhile the same song, but in Spanish, won a Latin Grammy for Song of the Year. In 2000, his second single “You Sang To Me” received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Performance.

Not only are his albums being recognized as award-winning, but also his electrifying live performances have sold-out around the world including Madison Square Garden. That night every seat in the house was occupied. In 2000 Marc’s HBO special titled “Marc Anthony: The Concert from Madison Square Garden” debuted.

His latest album “Mended” is slated for release on May 21st. Mended reunites Anthony with co-writer/producer Cory Rooney, executive producer of Marc Anthony and co-writer, with Marc, of the global hit “I Need To Know.” Marc’s latest single “I’ve Got You” blends contemporary dance rhythms with Anthony’s soaring imploring vocals. Like Marc Anthony, Mended showcases Anthony’s remarkable vocal and musical range, from heart-pulling ballads to irresistible dance-floor grooves. Tickets for Marc Anthony will go on sale beginning May 4th throughout North America The tour is presented by Budweiser.
