Univision’s 14th ‘ Premio Lo Nuestro 2002’.

Once again, dozens of top entertainment personalities will gather in Miami on Thursday, February 7th, 2002, to attend the 14th edition of the Premio Lo Nuestro A La Música Latina 2002, the foremost Hispanic music award in the U.S. Produced by Univision Television Network, the ceremony will be broadcast live from the James L. Knight Convention Center at 8:00PM ET/7:00PM CT.

For the second year in a row and thanks to their widespread popularity, Fernando Arau and Marco Antonio Regil will come together to host and entertain this prestigious live show.

This year’s edition of the awards will be headlined with performances by international Latin music icon Enrique Iglesias, Mexican Pop diva Paulina Rubio, and Brazil’s most representative Pop en Español star Alexandre Pirés. Also, some of the best-known Mexican Regional music acts will perform at the show, including Bryndis, Kumbia Kings, Lupillo Rivera, Palomo and Pepe Aguilar.

This year, special recognition will be given to a truly-deserving musician, José José, also known as “El Príncipe de la Canción” (“The Prince of Song”) with the “Premio a la Excelencia” (the Excellence Award). This very special evening will also feature tributes to two of the greatest Latin music stars, Mexican singer and composer Juan Gabriel, and Salsa sensation Gilberto Santa Rosa.

On this star-studded Latin event, hundreds of fans traditionally line up outside the theater doors to watch the red-carpet arrival of their favorite Latin celebrities, as they walk from their limousines to the Auditorium entrance, decked in spectacular outfits that add glitter and glamour to this much-anticipated gala event.
