National Hispanic Corporate Council Announces Board.

The National Hispanic Corporate Council (NHCC) announced its 2005 board of directors. Jon Munoz, Director of Hispanic Marketing for the South Region at Nextel Communications, Inc., has been re-elected Chair of the board. Munoz is the first NHCC Chair to be re-elected to a second term.

Other officers include Chair-Elect Jose (Pepe) Estrada, Director of Hispanic Markets/Diversity Relations for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.; Secretary Yvonne Vargas, Diversity Manager, Southwest Regional Lead of the Boeing Company; and Treasurer, Art Ruiz, Director Corporate Communications and External Relations for State Farm Insurance Company.

Newly elected directors include Margarita Hernandez, Manager, Multicultural Markets, PR Newswire; Bryan Kanefield, Director, Marketing Division, Fannie Mae; Maria Valentin, Community Relations Coordinator, ConAgra Foods, Inc.; and State Farm’s Ruiz. They join incumbents Yolanda Medina Casey, Project Manager of Hallmark Cards, Inc.; Ray Celaya, Assistant Vice President, Procurement Governance-Supplier Diversity for Allstate Insurance; Rocky Egusquiza, Director of National Programs and International Strategy for Ford Motor Company Fund; Olga Garcia, Corporate Relations Manager for Coors Brewing Company; Michelle Jordan, Sr. Manager, Strategic Community Partnerships at PepsiCo, Inc.; Salvador Mendoza, Director of Diversity for Hyatt Hotels, Inc.; Mary Padilla, Manager Marketing Communications for Univision Television; and Carlos Pagoaga, Manager of Hispanic Community Relations for the Coca-Cola Company.

The board members assumed their responsibilities in January and will be formally introduced to the membership at their bi-annual meeting in New Orleans, La. at the J. W. Marriott, March 29-31.

The board will preside over NHCC’s 20th Anniversary year. Their calendar will include the annual member conference in Chicago, October 5-7. NHCC will conclude 2005 with a 20th Anniversary Gala to be held at Chicago’s Union Station, October 7.
