ACDelco Builds On Partnership With Tejano Music Awards.

ACDelco is building on its exposure to the Hispanic market by being the premier sponsor of the 21st Annual Tejano Music Awards, the largest Tejano music event in the world. The event was held in April at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The sponsorship package continues a five-year partnership between ACDelco and the Texas Talent Musicians Association.

Nearly 40,000 fans of Tejano music attended the extravaganza with a total estimated viewership of 250 million people worldwide. “ACDelco is proud to sponsor the awards event which has helped Tejano music popularity surpass cultural as well as international boundaries,” says Al Fernandez, ACDelco metro district sales manager. “Each year this event continues to grow and has given ACDelco a tremendous amount of exposure to the Hispanic Market.”

As part of the sponsorship package, ACDelco awarded Ernest Alvarado, a Hispanic musical student from San Antonio, Texas, a $2500 college scholarship. “ACDelco’s desire is to help provide a necessary resource to a student who otherwise may not be able to attend college,” Fernandez said.

The awards show will continue to be broadcast globally throughout the remainder of 2001 by Tejano Music Award television affiliates and the Armed Forces Network.
