MeasureCast Internet Radio Report: Spanish Becomes The Second Most Popular Format.

MeasureCast, Inc. announced that Spanish became the second most popular Internet radio format for stations measured by MeasureCast during the week of February 5 – 11.

Catapulting Spanish to the number two spot – behind talk radio – was LaMusica.com, a newcomer to the MeasureCast rankings. Its New York-based LaMega/WSKQ-97.9 FM was the third most-listened to station (based on total time spent listening, or TTSL) in the weekly MeasureCast Internet Radio Top 25 List(TM).

The other Spanish broadcaster appearing in the MeasureCast Top 25 list is Morfeo, whose Onda Cero Internet-only station moved up a notch this week into the 24th spot.

Other facts from this week’s MeasureCast reporting include:

— 68 percent of Internet radio listening occurred between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. PST

— 89 percent of listening occurred Monday-Friday; 11 percent over the weekend

— On-line radio listening continues to be dominated by men (72 percent)
