Douglas Darfield Joins Nielsen Media Research To Lead Hispanic Services.

Douglas Darfield, formerly head of research for Univision, the Spanish-language television network, has joined Nielsen Media Research as senior vice president in charge of Hispanic Services.

“As head of national and local Hispanic Services, Doug is responsible for expanding customer services, growing the business and serving as our principal representative to the Hispanic television industry,” said Dimling. “I am confident that Doug’s experience and his position as an industry leader will be a tremendous asset to our customers and to Nielsen Media Research.”

In 1992, Nielsen Media Research created two new services to report Hispanic audience measurement on both the national and local levels, and to acknowledge the influence of this burgeoning community and its unique viewing habits.

During his career, Darfield spent more than 10 years as vice president/director of research for Univision. After leaving Univision, he was a research consultant for Televisa in Mexico City, and director of network research for Hispanic Broadcasting Corp. Most recently, Darfield served as chief strategic officer of EMC3, an on-line media exchange in Mexico City. Darfield began his career in broadcasting as a research analyst at Petry Television, and subsequently served as vice president/director of research at Seltel before joining Univision.
