Futbol de Primera brings back World Cup Legends for Copa America Centenary coverage

Futbol de Primera (FDP RADIO) revealed its broadcast plans for the historic Copa América Centenario to be played in the United States June 3-26. The talent team will be led by legendary play by play announcer Andrés Cantor and will feature Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama, three time World Cup captain for Colombia, Carlos Hermosillo, one of México all time leading scorers, Steve Sampson, former US National Team coach, Bora Milutinovic, five time World Cup coach and former coach of US, Mexico, Costa Rica, Honduras, Manuel Sol, former Chivas de Guadalajara and México internacional, Carlos de los Cobos, former coach of El Salvador, América, Chicago Fire, etc, Sammy Sadovnik, Emmy nominated play by play announcer, Jaime Gallardo who will be embedded with Mexico’s El Tri, Rosa Sánchez, Daniel Chapela and Nicolás Cantor who will make his debut as a play by play announcer.

A total of 103 affiliate stations (55FM’s) in all major US markets will carry all 32 games of the unprecedented tournament. From Los Angeles (KLYY 97.5FM and 103.1FM) to New York (WXNY 96.3FM) to Chicago (WPPN 106.7) etc, listeners will be able to enjoy FDP live action play by play and full analysis on the pre and post-game matches as well as daily coverage on FDP Radio’s daily one hour show.

Coverage starts Friday June 3 in Santa Clara, Ca when the US National Team takes on Colombia.

Andrés Cantor will be on site for the play by play alongside iconic Carlos Pibe Valderrama and former US coach Steve Sampson for expert analysis and insights on both teams.
