Azteca America announces the premiere Vis a Vis: Encarcelada

Azteca America announced the premiere of”Vis a Vis: Encarcelada”, a thriller that reflects the daily struggle of a woman attempting to survive in the stifling world of prison, where she is serving a seven-year sentence.  She will be forced into playing a dangerous game of alliances, betrayal, and revenge with her fellow inmates.  “Vis a Vis: Encarcelada” premieres Sunday, October 1 at 9 pm / 8 C on Azteca America.

Macarena Ferreiro is a young, naive woman who, at the urging of her boss, commits several crimes involving accounting fraud and embezzlement at her company.  When her misconduct comes to light, she is charged with four crimes and sent to the Cruz del Sur prison.

Entering prison is a shock to Macarena and she quickly has to learn to navigate the complex relationships among the inmates, particularly Zulema, the most dangerous prisoner.

Things worsen for Macarena when she becomes immersed in an investigation into the murder of one of the inmates who had been hiding a large sum of money stolen in a robbery.

Little by little, and after being subjected to deplorable treatment, Macarena begins to realize that in order to survive her seven-year sentence, she will need to evolve and leave behind the docile person she had been in order to become something she had never imagined.

Starring Maggie Civantosas Macarena and Najwa Nimri as Zulema, “Vis a Vis: Encarcelada” airs Sundays on Azteca America beginning Sunday, October 1 at 9 pm/ 8 C.
