Azteca America to premiere Demencia

Azteca America enters the world of insanity, suspense, and mystery with “Demencia”, a new thriller series starring Paulette Hernández and Carmen Beato, premiering January 14 at 9 pm/ 8 C.

A journalist in Spain receives word from Mexico that her grandmother, a schizophrenic who has been a patient at a mental hospital, is dying.

When she arrives at the asylum and sees her grandmother’s condition, she realizes that something is wrong.

The elderly woman’s death prompts questions and raises the journalist’s suspicions until she concludes that her grandmother did not die of natural causes.

The only way to find out who killed her grandmother and to discover the reasons behind the murder is for her to go undercover and be admitted as a patient at the mental institution, unaware that her search will bring her face to face with the people running the asylum, whose methods for treating patients are very uncommon.

This thriller, which has 10 episodes is a special production for Azteca America directed by Jorge Michel Grau (“We are what there is”, “7:19”).

“Demencia”, every Sunday, starting January 14 at 9 pm/ 8 C on Azteca America.
