Lascurain Farell named VP of Production at Endemol Shine Boomdog

Endemol Shine Boomdog, a division of Endemol Shine North America, has named television showrunner and studio executive Jose Lascurain Farell as its new Vice President of Production, it was announced today by Endemol Shine Boomdog CEO Alejandro Rincon.

Lascurain, a two-time International Emmy-nominated producer, has an extensive TV production background, most recently serving as Senior Executive Producer of Current Programming and Specials at Univision Communications.

And joining Endemol Shine Boomdog marks a return to the company for Lascurain, who formerly served as Director, Production and Development for Endemol Shine Latino from 2012-2014, working on unscripted series in both Mexico and the U.S. In his new role, Lascurain will be based out of Endemol Shine’s Los Angeles office.

Lascurain, who most recently served as Senior Executive Producer of Current Programming and Specials at Univision Communications, oversaw programming from telenovelas to specials for both Televisa in Mexico and Univision in the U.S.

He led entertainment workflow between both networks for series like “Pequenos Gigantes,” “Reto 4 Elementos” and “Todo queda en Familia.” He also led production efforts on Univision holiday specials for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.  

Prior to joining Univision, Lascurain was Vice President of Production for FremantleMedia Latin America. With Fremantle, he supervised all production activities in Mexico and the U.S., including for such series as “La Banda” (International Emmy nominee) and “I Can Do That.” He also worked as a consultant for successful music competition series “X-Factor.”

Lascurain was with Endemol Shine Latino before that, working as Director of Production and Development, overseeing production activities in both the U.S. and Mexico. He served as an executive producer on numerous Endemol Shine Latino series including “My Name Is” and “Mira Quien Baila.”

Lascurain also previously held production roles at Televisa, Blindspot Pictures, El Mall and Mediamates and Endemol Mexico. He holds a BS in Communications from the University of Valley of Mexico and is a certified coach for the Road Runners Club of America.
