This special coverage will be led by “Al Rojo Vivo” host María Celeste Arrarás and Noticias Telemundo anchor José Díaz-Balart on-site in Puerto Rico, and will also be available via NoticiasTelemundo.com and Noticias Telemundo’s mobile app and Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp properties.

“Noticias Telemundo will travel to Puerto Rico to provide a first-hand look at the state of recovery 90 days after the passage of Maria,” said Luis Fernández, Executive Vice President of Noticias Telemundo. “We’ll offer comprehensive coverage, including interviews with Puerto Rican officials, residents and celebrities, plus investigative segments and special reports.”

In a series of special reports, “Al Rojo Vivo” host María Celeste Arrarás will interview the Mayor of San Juan, Carmen Yulín Cruz, during a visit to parts of Puerto Rico still without power. María Celeste also will travel to shelters, schools and nursing homes, among other places, to document the current situation facing Puerto Ricans. In addition, the program will present a special report on the exodus of tens of thousands of island residents to the mainland United States in recent months, and feature appearances by Daddy Yankee and other artists committed to the rebuilding efforts.

Later in the evening, José Díaz-Balart will anchor the primetime edition of “Noticias Telemundo” live from San Juan. Correspondents Vanessa Hauc and Jorge Miramontes will offer follow-up stories from the locations where they first covered the hurricane aftermath. Complementing their coverage will be a special report from correspondent Angie Sandoval in Orlando, Florida, where most of the displaced Puerto Ricans have settled.

In addition, Telemundo’s station in Puerto Rico, Telemundo Puerto Rico / WKAQ-TV will deliver special multi-platform coverage on Friday, December 29, 100 days after Hurricane Maria made landfall on the island. The coverage will feature in-depth reports about the local efforts that are contributing to the rebuilding of the island one neighborhood at-a-time, as well as special consumer investigative reports related to hurricane recovery. Telemundo Puerto Rico’s multi-platform coverage also features the station’s interactive “Power Connectivity Map” that allows audiences to see where power has been restored in the island, and which sectors are expected to receive power restoration. WKAQ’s “Power Connectivity Map” is available online at TelemundoPR.comand via the station’s dedicated free mobile app “TelemundoPR.”
