Telemundo begins production on Luis Miguel series

Production has begun in Mexico City for Telemundo’s officially authorized series based on the life of internationally renowned music superstar and Grammy award-winning multi-platinum recording artist, Luis Miguel. The series features Mexican actor and singer Diego Boneta as Luis Miguel, a star-studded cast including Camila Sodi playing Luis Miguel’s long-term love, Oscar Jaenada as his father and Paulina Dávila as Luis Miguel’s first girlfriend. Produced by Gato Grande Productions, a joint venture with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc (MGM), the series is executive produced by Mark Burnett and is slated for premiere in 2018 in the U.S. and Puerto Rico exclusively on Telemundo, and on Netflix in Latin America.

Best known for his roles in Mexican and English-language Hollywood productions including Rock of Ages and FOX’s Scream Queens, Diego Boneta stars as Luis Miguel; Oscar Jaenada,who plays Luis Miguel’s father, Luis Rey is a Goya winning Spanish actor who has stared in the hit feature films, The Shallows and Snatched, and has the upcoming Lionsgate feature Chaos Walking, and the Terry Gilliam directed feature The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. Camila Sodi, renowned actress and singer who has participate in several box office hits, stars as Luis Miguel’s girlfriend.  Paulina Dávila, who worked in major film and television productions, portrays Luis Miguel’s first love. Latin America’s most important influencer, Juan Pablo Zurita plays Luis Miguel’s brother, Alex. The series also features Argentinian actor César Bordón as Luis Miguel´s manager Hugo Lopez, Vanessa Bauche as Luis Miguel´s longtime press director Rosy Esquivel and actor Andrés Almeida as Luis Miguel’s accountant Armando Serna.
