Telemundo Boston adds Noticiero Telemundo Boston

Telemundo Boston / WNEU announced that its first-ever live local newscasts – Noticiero Telemundo Boston – are slated to begin airing on Monday, August 17. The two live, half-hour newscasts will air weeknights (Monday to Friday) at 6 PM and 11 PM and will deliver up-to-the-minute local news and information, weather, sports, entertainment and community news for Spanish-speaking viewers throughout the Boston area.

José A. Rivera Adrovet has been named Anchor for Noticiero Telemundo Boston. He will be joined by Cecy Gutierrez as Weather Anchor and Grace Gomez and Ariana Alcorta as Multi-Media Journalists.

“We are ecstatic that Telemundo Boston will debut its first-ever live and locally produced weekday newscasts to help fill the void for Spanish-language viewers that has existed in our market for far too long,” said Mike St. Peter, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Telemundo Boston. “We conducted a long and thorough search to find the best Spanish-speaking journalists and are excited to welcome Jose, Cecy, Grace and Ariana to the Telemundo Boston family. We hope our viewers tune in day-in and day-out so we can help them stay ahead of the news.”

José A. Rivera Adrovet comes to Boston from Univision Tampa Bay, where he served as Anchor for the station’s daily afternoon and late newscasts from 2013 to 2015. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Sacred Heart University in Puerto Rico and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Navarre in Spain. Cecy Gutierrez joins Telemundo Boston after having worked as a bilingual Weather Producer at WSI Corporation for nearly a decade.
