YouTube Originals Unveils First-Ever Spanish Language Slate Featuring Top Global Latin Talent

YouTube announced its first-ever Spanish language YouTube Originals projects in development.  YouTube is expanding its Originals series and movies portfolio with new Spanish language programming aimed at fans around the world.  The new projects will be headlined by Gael Garcia Bernal, Maluma and Sofia Niño de Rivera from the world of cinema, music and comedy.

Gael Garcia Bernal is a Mexican actor, director and producer and Golden Globe Award winner best known around the world for his performances in the films The Motorcycle Diaries, Amores Perros, Y Tu Mamá También, Babel and most recently Disney’s Coco.  Global Latin music star Maluma has more than 17 million YouTube subscribers worldwide and five videos with more than one billion views on YouTube, including “Felices los 4” (1.3B), “Corazón” (1.1B) and “El Perdedor” (1.1B).  Sofia Niño de Rivera, is a groundbreaking Mexican comedian who is seen as a trailblazer for women comedians and best known for her stand-up specials and scripted series that showcase her unique brand of humor.
