Accentmarketing’s U.S. Navy ‘Accelerate Your Life’ Campaign

Accentmarketing has produced its first Hispanic-targeted TV commercial for the U.S. Navy’s recently-launched “Accelerate Your Life” campaign. The thirty-second spot, which began airing this week on Univision, Telemundo and Fox Sports en Español, features Petty Officer First Class José Fernando Reig, originally from Miami, Florida, conducting a simulated at-sea rescue from an H-60 Sea Hawk helicopter.

“Our goal with this spot is to accurately convey how the Navy can be a life-transforming career option for young Hispanics who want to realize their full potential. When you see José performing the challenging rescue-at-sea that is at the center of the action in this spot, you are watching him doing his job in the Navy,” explained Lisette Hoyo, VP Account Group Director at Accentmarketing.

The brainchild of Accentmarketing’s creative team of Copywriter José Estrada and Art Director Alexandra Villarreal, the spot provides a glimpse into a Sailor’s off-duty leisure time in addition to showcasing the Navy’s unique environment of teamwork and camaraderie.

“We wanted young Hispanics to see themselves reflected in the protagonist, to identify with him as an ordinary person who, through the Navy, is able to achieve extraordinary things. The spot communicates how a naval career embodies the best of both worlds: access to the incredible opportunities and adventure offered by the Navy, as well as to those activities that most dynamic young men enjoy, such as playing basketball or riding a motorcycle,” explained Alexandra Villarreal. “We feel that the idea of portraying a life that is within everyone’s reach is appealing and inspiring to Hispanics,” added José Estrada.
