Pablo Buffagni – EVP/Creative Director @ Montemayor y Asociados.

Pablo Buffagni has joined Montemayor y Asociados as Executive Vice President/Creative Director.

Advertising Age Magazine named Buffagni one of the year’s five hottest creative directors for the Hispanic market in September 2001. Buffagni comes to Montemayor y Asociados from Bromley Communications in San Antonio, where he had been VP/Creative Director since June 2000. Working with the same 20-person creative team in place before his arrival and without importing new staff, he led the agency to win many honors, including eight Advertising Age 2001 Hispanic Creative Advertising Awards and a London International Advertising Award. While at Bromley, Buffagni won El Ojo de Iberoamérica 2001 award for Best Creative Director – Hispanic U.S.

“Every day the Hispanic market is becoming more creative, but there’s still a lot to explore,” Buffagni says. “Fortunately, some agencies and some clients already realize that doing things differently brings good results. But, more clients and media need to forget about preconceived notions and stereotypes of what can be done in the Hispanic market; they need to get excited about the market and place their confidence in the creative intuition of their agency.”

Buffagni already had established a name for himself as an award-winning creative in Latin America before coming to the U.S., winning accolades for his work while a director and copywriter at agencies in Buenos Aires. Buffagni captured The Best of Ad Age International in 1998 and 1999, two Bronze Lions at the 1998 Cannes International Advertising Festival, and two Golden Clios at the 1998 Clio Awards.

“Montemayor y Asociados is already ‘on the map’ for the work we have done for such clients as DaimlerChrysler and Corona Beer. With Pablo’s vision, we expect to be the ‘map makers’ for Hispanic marketing of the future,” said Carlos R. Montemayor, president and CEO. “We are elated to have Pablo join our creative team at Montemayor y Asociados.”
