Sara Gonzalez, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce said, “All of us at the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and within Georgia’s rapidly expanding Latino community are extremely pleased and honored that our Governor is proclaiming January 27th as Hispanic Day in Georgia. It’s terrific to see that our community’s economic and cultural contributions are being recognized by Governor Sonny Perdue and the State Legislature.” Ms. Gonzalez added, “Hispanic buying power in Georgia is the third fastest growing in the nation, totaling $10.8 billion annually, so it’s great to be acknowledged for our contributions in this wonderful state.”

Thursday’s festivities include the 3rd Annual Hispanic Caucus Breakfast in honor of the Hispanic members of the Georgia General Assembly at The James H. Floyd Building, Floyd Room, 20th Floor, 2 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, adjacent to the Capitol. Following breakfast, chamber members will gather on the north steps of the Capitol Rotunda to hear Governor Sonny Perdue’s presentation proclaiming January 27th as Hispanic Day in Georgia.
