Senate Passes Resolution To Disapproved FCC New Cross-ownership Rules.

According to Radio & Records, the U.S. Senate passed by a 55-40 vote the resolution of disapproval of the FCC’s new cross-ownership rules introduced by Byron Dorgan. Dorgan now anticipates growing support for the bill in the House of Representatives, something Senate Commerce Committee Chairman John McCain says will not happen and should not happen. McCain reacted to Dorgan by vehemently stating that because the resolution will not pass in the lower body of Congress, House members should instead vote on his own bill seeking to roll back the FCC’s rules.
