Univision.com Aids Earthquake Victims In El Salvador.

Univision Online, Inc. announced today that it will be participating in the XVI Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday, March 4, 2001, to aid the victims of the recent El Salvador
earthquakes. Univision.com participants will be sponsoring Clinica Monsenor Oscar A. Romero, a community clinic founded by Salvadoran refugees, to help raise funds to be donated to this charity.

Univision.com has played a critical role in helping Salvadorans in the United States communicate with their families in El Salvador. In the days immediately following the tragedy, Univision.com raised funds for earthquake relief on the website. In addition, the site serves as a crucial resource to both countries, enabling U.S. Salvadorans to receive updates on how their families are faring and provide important information on how aid can be sent to the earthquake victims via cross-links to charitable websites.

Univision.com has a special message board for visitors to communicate online with family and friends.

“Univision.com is whole-heartedly dedicated to serve as the communications portal for earthquake victims in El Salvador and as the principal source of breaking news and information,” said Diego Ruiz, Vice President and General Manager, Univision Online. “We are pleased to be part of the Los Angeles marathon and appreciate the opportunity to use the event as a platform to help the victims of this devastating disaster. We would like to encourage the community to participate in our efforts to raise awareness for Clinica Monsenor Oscar A. Romero and the many victims we are trying to assist.”

Univision.com and Clinica Monsenor Oscar A. Romero will have a booth located at Mile 24 (Virgil and Geneva) where public donations for this non-profit community based clinic will be collected. The booth will provide information on Univision.com’s portal and Internet access service, as well as literature from Clinica Monsenor Oscar A. Romero. AskJeeves en Espanol, an online partner of Univision.com, will also be present at the Marathon and will be
supporting Univision.com’s efforts.
