Diversity @ ABSOLUT Chalk Miami Beach Festival.

Nearly 225 artists from the local Miami community will participate in this year’s street painting festival. For two days, and up to 20 hours, professional and amateur artists will exhibit their cement canvas using pastel chalk as their medium, designing spectacular artistic creations, rich in color, spirit and creativity. After eight successful years in Pasadena, CA, this year’s festival will take place on Saturday, February 3rd and Sunday, February 4th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Ocean Drive at 9th Street in Miami Beach, FL.

ABSOLUT Chalk Miami Beach will benefit the Light Bringer Project, a nonprofit organization in support of cultural art programs, with proceeds going to the Art Center of South Florida. ABSOLUT Chalk Miami Beach will feature two artistic centerpieces designed by emerging artists representing various multi-cultural backgrounds including Cuban, Caucasian, Haitian, Columbian, Hispanic and Mexican. One centerpiece, entitled “The Language of Art,” will capture the integration and assimilation of language and culture familiar to Miami. The second centerpiece, presented by renowned artist Romero Britto, will be equally unique in the portrayal of Miami’s culture.

Attendees throughout the weekend will be given a rare opportunity to experience the artistic “chalk” process, from start to finish, and discuss with artists their individual style and technique that goes into each image. The festival concludes on Sunday afternoon with over 200 spectacular works of art in a variety of classic and contemporary styles, reviewed by peers and nominated for the final ABSOLUT CHALK festival awards.
