Verizon Flips Over Denver With New Bilingual SuperPages Directories.

As part of its nationwide expansion Verizon SuperPages is now delivering its first SuperPages directories in Denver. Verizon is currently distributing nearly 1.1 million SuperPages to greater Denver residents and businesses including 185,000 bilingual directories to the most-heavily Hispanic populated areas.

“Verizon recognized a need for a more comprehensive directory in Denver because of the area’s cultural diversity and residents’ use of SuperPages.com,” said Sal Salgado, local Verizon SuperPages general sales manager. “Denver was the 19th most searched city on SuperPages.com in 2002, and the area’s residents, businesses and visitors now benefit from all of Verizon SuperPages’ many community resources — printed and online, English and Spanish.”

According to national research firm Claritas, Denver has a 19.5 percent Hispanic population. The neighborhoods within Denver, where the flipped, bilingual SuperPages are being delivered, have a 50 percent Hispanic population. Verizon is the first publisher to offer a bilingual directory in Denver.

Denver is the second market in Colorado to receive Verizon SuperPages directories. Colorado Springs directories distributed in October 2002, and the Boulder SuperPages are scheduled to begin delivering in December.
