Telemundo Media celebrates multi-platform Hispanic Heritage Month

Telemundo Media celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with coverage and special events on all its platforms, including programming, digital and local stations thoughrough the United States starting this Sunday, September 15. As part of the festivities, the U.S. Hispanic network will air “Viva México: El Grito” a live special this Sunday at 11:58pm/10:58c, as well as a block of classic movies prior to this traditional event. Additionally, Deportes Telemundo will have ”Futbol Americano: Celebrando el Mes de la Herencia Hispana,” a special dedicated to Hispanic NFL players. Telemundo Station Group is celebrating “Fiestas Patrias” by participating in a series of events highlighting the independence of Mexico and various Latin American countries.

Hosted by Mónica Noguera and Edgar del Villar, Telemundo joins this spectacular celebration from Mexico City on Sunday, September 15, where, for the first time, president Peña Nieto will lead the ceremony of El Grito and shout “Viva Mexico.” This special includes live coverage from El Zócalo, bringing viewers the excitement, history and celebration of “El Grito de Hidalgo.” Prior to this special event, the network will bring to the screen “El Tahúr” at 7pm/6c and “Como Mexico no hay Dos” at 9pm/8c, classic films with the legendary Vicente Fernández on “Idolos de México” Sunday movies.

On the air and digital platforms, the network will feature “Latino Soy, Aqui Estoy,” highlighting the importance of preserving language and culture, as well as strengthening opportunities for the next generation of Hispanics in the United States.
