Univision Network Promotions.

Univision Communications announced four executive promotions within its Network Sales Department. Judy Kenny has been named Senior Vice President, New York Network Sales Manager; Dan Thomas has been named Senior Vice President, Sales Development and Marketing; Peter Pouliopoulos has been named Vice President, Sales Development and Marketing; and Sebastian M. Trujillo has been named South East Sales Manager.

“These appointments reflect the contributions that Judy, Dan, Peter and Sebastian have made to Univision,” said Dennis McCauley, Co-President, Network Sales. “Their overall sales and management experience have played a great role in the Company’s ability to achieve its sales targets. We are pleased to offer each of them these well-deserved promotions.”

As Senior Vice President, New York Network Sales Manager, Kenny will be responsible for maintaining and building regional accounts as well as further developing relationships with Univision’s advertisers. She will continue to report to Ron Furman, Executive Vice President, Network Sales and Marketing, and will be based in New York. Most recently, she was Vice President, New York Network Sales at the Company. From 1990 to 1998, she held various positions at the ABC Television Network, including serving as an Account Executive for the Late Night, Evening and Early Morning News, Account Executive in Network Sports Sales and Senior Account Executive in Network Primetime. In 1986, she started as an Assistant Network Buyer at BBDO Advertising Agency and left in 1990 as Vice President, Associate Media Director in their Network Programming Department. Kenny started her career in 1985 at the advertising firm Young and Rubicam. She graduated from Washington and Jefferson College in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and English.

As Senior Vice President, Sales Development and Marketing, Thomas will be responsible for overseeing all new business sales efforts for Univision’s Eastern Region. He will report to Bennett Fogel, Executive Vice President, Network Sales and Marketing, and will be based in New York. Most recently, he was Vice President, Sales Development and Marketing. Prior to Univision, Thomas was with Lifetime Television. In his last position at Lifetime, Thomas served as Vice President, Sales Development and New Media. From 1994 to 1997 he was Vice President, Eastern Region Sales. Thomas joined Lifetime Television as an Account Executive. From 1991 to 1993, he was a Group Sales Manager for National Cable Advertising. From 1980 to 1991 he worked for TeleRep Inc. as an Account Executive and a New York Sales Manager. He began his television career in traffic and research at KTTV in Los Angeles, from 1978 to 1980. Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Latin American studies from Occidental College and spent a semester at an intensive Spanish language school in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

As Vice President, Sales Development and Marketing, Pouliopoulos will be responsible for overseeing new business sales efforts for Univision’s Western Region. He will report to Bennett Fogel, Executive Vice President, Network Sales and Marketing, and will be based in Los Angeles. Most recently, Pouliopoulos worked in Network Sales, Los Angeles, as an Account Executive. From 1997 to 1999, Pouliopoulos was West Coast National Sales Manager at KMEX-TV, Univision’s flagship station. He began his career at Univision as a local Account Executive at KMEX-TV. Prior to joining Univision, Peter was an Account Executive with Blair Communications, a television rep firm located in Los Angeles. He graduated from Northeastern University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.

As South East Sales Manager, Trujillo will be responsible for further developing existing advertising relationships and attracting new business for Univision. He will report to Nicolas Valls, Senior Vice President, Network Sales and Marketing, and will be based in Miami. Most recently, he was an Account Executive in Network Sales for the Company. In January of 1996, Trujillo was promoted to an Account Executive in Spot Sales. From 1995 to 1996, he was a Business Development Account Executive in Spot Sales, responsible for developing new business on a regional basis for the Univision Television Group. Trujillo joined Univision in 1995 as a Regional Sales Representative. He graduated from the University of Miami in 1993 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Marketing.
