Maroni named VP & Creative Director of Telemundo Studios

Telemundo announced Miguel Varoni has been promoted to Vice President and Creative Director of Telemundo Studios and Telemundo International Studios, where he will work on  scripted projects targeting the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American market.  In addition, Varoni will continue to be an exclusive talent, both as an actor and director on Telemundo’s productions.  He reports to Luis Silberwasser, President, Telemundo Network and Universo Channel and continues to be based in Miami.

Varoni will continue to be part of the Telemundo Studios leadership team, and will also join the development team at Telemundo International Studios, led by Marcos Santana, President of Telemundo International.  Previously, Varoni served as Creative Director for Telemundo Studios.

“Miguel’s creativity, experience and versatility as a talent have made him a valuable part of our team, and I am pleased to expand his role,” said Silberwasser. “His experience will be a strong addition to Telemundo International as well, as we embark on the development of short-form content for both the Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets.”

Varoni is a director and actor who has worked on many of Telemundo’s most popular productions, including directing the first and second season of the Super Series™ Señora Acero and, most recently, directing and starring in the romantic comedy La Fan.

Varoni’s additional on-screen credits include: Dueños del Paraíso, Marido en Alquiler, Corazón Valiente, La Casa de al Lado, Ojo por Ojo, Decisiones and Te voy a Enseñar a Querer, among others. He is also a two-time host of the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
