NAHREP Joins President Bush In His Pledge To Boost Minority Homeownership.

The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), as one of the primary partners in the White House goal of boosting the number of minority homeowners by 5.5 million by the end of the decade, will, among other activities, host its second-annual Hispanic Marketing Conference. Held September 17 through September 20 in San Diego, California, the conference will offer professional educational courses.

“Professional training is a fundamental component toward the achievement of President Bush’s homeownership goals,” says Ernest J. Reyes, NAHREP Chairman. “The NAHREP Certified Professional (NCP) training courses were created to demystify the process of serving Hispanic real estate consumers,” he added.

The educational program will focus on understanding Hispanic culture, new technologies, and relevant products for first-time homebuyers. The curriculum is designed to assist real estate agents and mortgage originators in serving their Hispanic clients more effectively, efficiently, and profitably.

The conference is the nation’s only real estate conference exclusively dedicated to Hispanic marketing. Scheduled speakers include Henry G. Cisneros, former Secretary of HUD; Leland C. Brendsel, Chairman and CEO of Freddie Mac; Louis W. Hoyes, Executive Vice President-Single-Family Mortgage Business of Fannie Mae; and Cathy Whatley, President-elect of the National Association of Realtors. Invited guests include Mel Martinez, Secretary of HUD.

A partial list of event sponsors includes Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Citigroup, Bank of America, Countrywide, Wells Fargo, PMI, Principal Residential, The National Association of Realtors, G.E. Mortgage Insurance, Washington Mutual, and United Guarantee.
