Univision.com Gets It’s ABCs.

Univision Online, Inc. announced the results of the Audit Bureau of Circulations Interactive (ABCi) independent audit for March 2001. According to the audit, in March, Univision.com attracted more than five million unique users, or more than 80% of U.S. online Spanish speakers. ABCi is the interactive affiliate of the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

Commenting on the audit, Javier Saralegui, President of Univision Online, said: “We are thrilled with these results, which officially confirm that Univision is now the premier Spanish-language website in the United States. We are especially pleased to have reached this milestone after only six months of operation. Univision.com’s traffic has grown tremendously as a result of the strength of our culturally relevant, original content and services created specifically for the U.S. Hispanic community. As we approach Univision’s Upfront, we are now able to offer advertisers the ability to reach the growing Hispanic community on the #1 Spanish-language Network, the #1 Spanish-language cable Network, as well as on the #1 Spanish-language website.”

ABCi conducted a month-long analysis of the site’s server logs and usage patterns to arrive at an independent validation of Univision.com’s traffic. As part of its ongoing effort to improve the quality and accuracy of online research, Univision Online will soon be undertaking additional research to gain a better understanding of Latinos’ cross-media preferences and behaviors.
