The Puerto Rico Daily Sun to hit the stands this month

Heads up English-speaking community: the Puerto Rico Daily Sun is on its way. The newspaper, created by a group of 90 former San Juan Star employees who have formed the Cooperativa Prensa Unida, is set to see light this month, according to Marisol Lora, Operations Coordinator for this team.

The English-language newspaper will publish seven days a week, combining full-color and black and white content, with a contemporary look and appeal. This is the first daily newspaper on the island to be formed under the cooperative concept; the founders represent every operational area of the former SJ Star; editorial, sales, circulation and printing press, who are bringing their expertise to the venture.

The distribution and circulation infrastructure has already been established, with over 150 carriers committed to the daily delivering of the paper to subscribers. More than 1,000 people have pre-paid their subscription even before the official announcement being made, and the paper’s account executive William Fernandez is visiting the agencies to present the product.
