Pels – General Manager @ Mun2.

Mun2 announced he appointment of Alex Pels as General Manager for the network and the addition of an award-winning bicoastal production team. With its newly-developed roster of all-star creatives, mun2 now houses some of the best Latino talent in the industry. The newly-hired producers, to be based primarily in Los Angeles, are an important addition to the recently-recruited mun2 creative team and are instrumental in completing the network’s radical renovation it has undertaken in recent months.

Pels, an accomplished creative leader in the bilingual entertainment industry, will oversee all on and off air initiatives at the network and lead all departments as they implement the network’s new programming and digital content inspired by an irreverent and progressive attitude. Also joining the network is an award-winning team of producers including Gloria Medel, Luisa Varona and Nick Rodriguez. Medel will serve as West Coast Executive Producer and Varona joins as a Miami-based Executive Producer for the East Coast. Rodriquez joins as a producer for the soon-to-be-launched L.A.-based show “Vivo.” Both Medel and Rodriguez will be based out of the new mun2 headquarters at Universal’s City Walk in Los Angeles.

“The vision of the new mun2 is almost complete,” said Antoinette Zel, Senior Executive Vice President Network Strategy at Telemundo. “We’re proud to say that we have created a dream team of hip and fresh Latino creatives that are going to give the general market a taste of what it means to be a young U.S. Hispanic today. Alex and his team will enjoy a huge amount of creative freedom and, frankly, mun2 will be all the stronger because of it.”

“I’m thrilled about joining mun2 and about the opportunity that exists for both the network and the bicultural audience which it serves. Until this point, young Latinos in this country have not had quality productions designed for and about them. We now have the chance at mun2 to create a network that fills this void and we are 100% committed to doing so,” said Pels. “We’ve assembled the best possible team of production and creative pioneers in the industry and one which I firmly believe will shape mun2 into the network that all young Latinos in the U.S. have been waiting for and deserve.”
